De ugorjunk el�re az id�ben eg�szen a mai napig, mikor azut�n, hogy k�t �vig �ltek a rivaldaf�nyen k�v�l, a l�nyok �jb�l felt�ntek. J�n�h�ny dolog megv�ltozott az �let�kben. Lena jelenleg pszichol�gia szakos hallgat� az egyetemen, Yulia pedig val�ra v�ltotta �letre sz�l� �lm�t, �s mostanra egy egy�ves kisl�ny anyuk�ja. Mindez azonban nem csillap�totta azt a v�gyukat, hogy �jra tal�lkozzanak a rajong�ikkal. �gy hat h�nap megfesz�tett munka ut�n egy Los Angeles-i st�di�ban, a t.A.T.u. most itt van, hogy bemutassa a 200 km/h in the wrong lane ut�n soron k�vetkez� album�t, a Dangerous and Moving-ot. Egyetlen �zsiai l�togat�suk alkalm�b�l az Universal Music t�bb fiatalt seg�tett eljutni a ny�zsg� v�rosba, hogy besz�lhessenek kedvenceikkel, �s megn�zhess�k a fell�p�s�ket a Channel V, V Power koncertj�t.
A l�nyok harminc �ra rep�l�s ut�n �rkeztek Taiwanba D�l-Amerik�b�l (t�bb mint k�t h�napja vannak m�r �ton folyamatosan) de sajnos nem minden kellemetlens�g n�lk�l. El�sz�r Yuli�nak voltak v�zum probl�m�i, ami miatt lek�ste a g�pet. Majd Lena minden csomagja valahol Eur�p�ban k�t�tt ki �s ott elveszett, �gy szeg�nyn�l nem maradt semmi ruha, amit viselhetett volna. De t�ltett�k magukat minden gondon �s lelkess�g�kkel bebizony�tott�k eg�sz Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore �s Korea m�di�j�nak egy konferenci�n, hogy �k nem csup�n egyszer� d�v�k. De mindennek a f�nypotja a k�vetkez� napon j�tt el, mikor lehet�s�get kaptunk arra, hogy sz�k k�rben is besz�lhess�nk Len�val �s Yuli�val, �s kifaggassuk �ket a zen�j�kr�l. Mindketten j�l l�that�an f�radtak voltak. Lena, akinek er�sebb az angol tud�sa, v�laszolta meg k�rd�seink nagy r�sz�t, �s �gy siker�lt megtudnunk mit is akarnak a l�nyok elmondani a vil�gnak az �j albumon kereszt�l, �s f�ny der�lt Lena jav�thatatlanul romantikus term�szet�re is.


Siker�lt kipihennetek magatokat a v�zummal �s a csomagokkal t�rt�nt probl�ma ut�n?
L: Nem igaz�n. Mostm�r kicsit jobban �rezz�k magunkat, de m�g mindig nagyon f�radtak vagyunk.

K�t kimer�t� h�nap �ll m�g�ttetek. Megj�rt�tok Eur�p�t, D�l-Amerik�t �s most itt vagytok Taiwanban. Milyen �rdekes tapasztalatokkal gazdagodtatok az �t sor�n?
L: Olaszorsz�gban t�lt�tt�nk egy kis id�t, onnan utaztunk D�l-Amerik�ba majd Taiwanba. Nagyon �rdekes volt, mert m�g soha nem j�rtunk D�l-Amerik�ba �s Taiwanban is most vagyunk el�sz�r.
Y: Nagy k�r, hogy nincs id�nk k�rben�zni - nem l�ttunk m�st csak a rep�l�teret �s a hotelt, ahol egym�s ut�n adtuk az interj�kat. Azut�n pedig rep�l�re sz�lltunk �s m�r ment�nk is egy m�sik orsz�gba.
L: Igen, ez igaz�n nagy k�r.
Y: De �lvezz�k mindezt, mert annyi kedves emberrel tal�lkozunk �t k�zben. A rajong�ink egyszer�en csod�latosak.

K�t �v �ta most vagytok el�sz�r �ton. Nem okozott nagy gondot �jra beilleszkedni a popszt�rok �letvitel�be?
L: Az elej�n kicsit neh�z volt, mert nagyon j� volt v�gre csak pihenni �s �lvezni az �letet Moszkv�ban. Most minden perc�nk be van t�bl�zva, folyamatosan turn�zunk, rep�l�nk szinte minden nap. De szeretem ezt csin�lni.
Y: Nekem egy�ltal�n nem okozott neh�zs�get. �n olyan ember vagyok, aki mindig el�re n�z. Nem foglalkozom azzal, hogy mi volt a m�ltban vagy mi zajlik k�r�l�ttem. Mindig csak arra figyelek, ami ott van k�zvetlen�l el�ttem. Nagyon szeretem a folyamatos v�ltoz�st, hogy rengeteg k�l�nb�z� emberrel tal�lkozhatok vagy orsz�gr�l orsz�gra utazhatok. �lvezem ezt az �letform�t. �s ami a legfontosabb, hogy a rajong�k rengeteget seg�tenek. Annyira hossz� ideje v�rtam, hogy v�gre �jra tal�lkozhassam vel�k �s nagyon boldog vagyok, hogy ez siker�lt.

A sz�rakoztat�iparban k�t �v kihagy�s nagyon hossz� id�. Nem volt semmi, ami miatt agg�dtatok, miel�tt megjelent az �j album?
L: Nem. Mit�l kellett volna f�ln�nk? Tett�k, amit tenni akartunk, sz�vb�l csin�ltuk ezt az albumot. �nekelni akartunk, a zen�n kereszt�l elmondani az embereknek, hogy mit �rz�nk. A sz�v�nket adtuk a lemezhez, �s azt akarjuk, hogy az emberek elgondolkozzanak azon, mir�l is �nekel�nk, mik�zben hallgatj�k. Azt hiszem ez az album sokkal komolyabb, sokkal s�t�tebb �s �sszetettebb, mint az el�z�. J�val t�bb benne a pszichol�gia �s nyomaszt�bb a hangulata.
Nem csak az�rt k�sz�lt, hogy sz�rakoztasson, ez�rt is szeretn�nk ha az emberek figyeln�nek a dalsz�vegekre �s megpr�b�ln�k meg�rteni, amit mondani akarunk nekik.

�s mi az, amit el akartok mondani azoknak, akik a ti zen�teket hallgatj�k?
Y: Ez a lemez olyan emberekr�l sz�l, akik k�ptelenek szeretni, nem tudj�k seg�teni vagy tisztelni egym�st, mintha nem is lenn�nek igaz�n emberek. Az orosz album c�me leford�tva annyit jelent "nyomor�k emberek" vagy "fogyat�kos emberek". De nem fizikailag, lelkileg fogyat�kosak. �gy �rezz�k, itt az ideje, hogy ez megv�ltozzon, hogy az emberek v�gre kedvesek legyenek �s nyugodtan tudjanak szeretni.
L: Annyi vesz�ly van ebben a vil�gban �s annyi vesz�lyes ember. Ezek a "hamis" emberek t�nkretehetik azokat, akik norm�lisak, megv�ltoztathatj�k �ket, �s �gy �rezz�k, ez egy nagy probl�ma. Nap nap ut�n egyre t�bb sz�rny�s�g t�rt�nik a vil�gban, mindenki d�h�ng, durva, undok, �nz�....�s m�g sorolhatn�m. Ez �gy nagyon nem j�.

Ha lenne egyetlen dolog, amit megv�ltoztathattok a vil�gban, mi lenne az?
L: Nem tudom. �gy ezt neh�z megmondani.
Y: �n szeretn�m �t�rni az emberek sz�v�t �s gondolatait. Elmondani ezzel az albummal, hogy elj�tt az ideje a v�ltoz�snak.
L: Ez az amit el szeretn�nk �rni ezzel a lemezzel, �s rem�lj�k az �zenet eljut az emberekhez.

Azzal, hogy az album c�me Dangerous and Moving azt akarj�tok kifejezni, hogy ti ketten olyasmit tesztek, amit m�sok vesz�lyesnek gondolnak?
L: Nem, mi nem vagyunk vesz�lyesek - j� kisl�nyok vagyunk.
Y: K�r�l�tt�nk van a vesz�ly, nem mi vagyunk azok.
L: Mi szeretetben �lj�k az �let�nket, ahogy mindig is tett�k.

Az egyik dalotok c�me Friend or Foe...
L: Ennek a dalnak olyan �zenete van, ami nagyon k�zel �ll az �let�nkh�z. Arr�l sz�l, hogy a h�ress�gek, azok, akik a rivaldaf�nyben �llnak, n�ha nehezen tudj�k eld�nteni, mi�rt akarnak az emberek bar�ts�got k�tni vel�k. Nem minden esetben az�rt k�zelednek hozz�nk, mert igaz�n a bar�taink akarnak lenni, vagy val�ban szeretik a szem�lyis�g�nket, n�ha csak az�rt, mert gazdagok vagyunk, vagy hogy elmondhass�k a haveroknak, van egy bar�tjuk a t.A.T.u.-b�l.

Meg tudj�tok k�l�nb�ztetni az ilyen "hamis" bar�tokat az igaziakt�l?
L: Igen. A legt�bb bar�tunk a civil �let�nkb�l van.
Y: Norm�lis emberek, akik nincsenek benne a showbusiness-ben.
L: Norm�lis, �tlagos emberek, norm�lis �lettel.

Ti ketten b�rhov� mentek, mindig vit�t kavartok egy t�m�ban, �s mindenhol felteszik a k�rd�st a szexu�lis �rdekl�d�setekkel kapcsolatban. Nincs m�r elegetek az "azok vagytok, vagy nem vagytok azok" k�rd�sb�l?
L: Nincs, mert meg�rtj�k, hogy ez egy olyan dolog, ami sokakat �rdekel.

Megb�ntatok b�rmit is, amit a m�ltban tettetek?
L: Nem. Teljesen �sszhangban vagyunk a m�lttal. Ha b�rmi is t�rt�nt, okkal t�rt�nt. �gy kellett lennie. Csak el�re n�z�nk, nem hiszem, hogy hiba volna, hogy azt tessz�k, amit helyesnek �rz�nk. Minden sz�vb�l j�n.

Mi az, amit most legink�bb �lveztek a munk�tokban?
Y: A rajong�inkat nagyon szeretj�k. �k okozz�k a legnagyobb �r�m�t.
L: Rengeteg szeretetet �s t�r�d�st kapunk t�l�k, �k adj�k az er�t a folyatat�shoz. Mindent az�rt tesz�nk, hogy megpr�b�ljuk visszaadni nekik ezt a szeretetet. N�ha tal�lkozunk olyanokkal, akik agressz�vabbak, de soha nem f�l�nk. �k csak szeretnek minket, �s amit tesznek, szeretetb�l teszik.

If you’d thought motherhood and becoming a university student would have mellowed down the fiery characters of Russian girl group members Lena Katina (21) and Julia Volkova (20), think again.
T.a.t.u.’s claim to fame came in 2002, when their onstage kisses and overall saucy behaviour caught the attention of audience and media alike, rocketing them to super-stardom in much of Europe and Asia. But along with that came a huge reputation as difficult-to-handle divas - remember the fiasco in Japan, where they stalked off one of the biggest “live” music programmes in the country, and cancelled a showcase in Tokyo?
Fast-forward to present day, when the girls have emerged after two years of living out of the limelight. Things have changed quite a bit in their lives. Lena’s now a psychology student in University, while Julia’s fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a mother with a one-year baby girl. But none of this dampened their desire to meet up with their fans once again. So after six months of slogging in the studios in LA, t.a.t.u presented us with Dangerous and Moving, a follow up of their debut album 200km/h in the Wrong Lane.
Making their sole Asian stop in Taipei, Universal Music flew teens up to the bustling city for a chat with the girls, as well as to watch their explosive performance at the V Power Concert for Channel V.
The girls arrived in Taipei after a 30-hour flight from South America (they’ve been on the road for over two months!), but not without many mishaps. First, Julia had a visa problem and missed her flight. Then all of Lena’s luggage ended up getting lost in Europe, and the poor girl had no clothes to wear! But they soldiered on despite the troubles, eager to disprove their diva reputation to media from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore at the press conference.
But the highlights came the next day, when we got the chance to speak to Lena and Julia alone, quizzing them about their music. With both of them still visibly tired and Lena, with a stronger command of English, answering most of the questions, we managed to find out about what they wanted to tell the world about their new album, and even discovered that Lena is a die-hard romantic!

Teens: Have you had a good rest after the visa and luggage fiasco?
Lena:No, We’re a little better, but still very tired.

It’s been a tiring two months for you so far - you’ve been to Europe, South America, and now Taiwan on this trip. What interesting things have you experienced?
Lena: We started off in Italy, before going to South America, and now Taiwan. It’s been very interesting, because we’d never been to South America before this, and it’s also our first time in Taiwan.
Julia: It’s a pity that we don’t have time to explore - all we see is the airport, and then the hotel, to do more and more interviews. Then we get on an aeroplane, and fly to another country.
Lena: Yes, it’s a real shame.
Julia: But we like it because we’ve met so many nice people. And our fans have been great.

It’s been two years since you were on the road. Has it been tough adapting back to life as a popstar?
Lena: it’s been a little difficult in the beginning, because it’s so nice to just relax and enjoy life in Moscow. Now, we have crazy schedules, and we’re touring, working and flying every single day. But I like it.
Julia: It’s not difficult for me at all. I’m the kind of person who always looks ahead. I don’t care what the past is like, and what goes on around me. I just focus on what is in front of me. I like change, when I get to meet different people and travel to different countries. I enjoy it.
And most importantly, the fans have been a great help. I’ve been waiting so long for the chance to meet them again, and I’m so happy that I have.

A two-year break is actually quite a long time in the entertainment industry. Were you apprehensive about anything before you released this album?
Lena: No. Why should we worry? We’re just doing what we want to do, and putting our hearts into this album. We want to sing, to tell other people how we feel through our music.
We’ve put our hearts into this album, and we want people to think about what we’re singing about when they listen to it. We feel that this album is more serious and dark, compared to our previous one. It’s more psychological and depressing. It’s not meant to be “fun”, so we want everyone to listen to the lyrics and try to understand what we’re trying to tell them.

So what are you trying to tell your listeners?
Julia: This is an album about people who can’t love, support or respect each other - they’re like fake people. The Russian title of this album translate to ‘invalid people’ or ‘disabled people’. But they’re not physically disabled, they’re morally disabled. We think that it’s time to change that, for people to be kinder, calmer to be in love.
Lena: There are so many dangerous things, and dangerous people around us. Those fake people can do harm to normal people. They change people, and we feel that’s a big problem. Everyday, there are horrible things happening in the world, and people are angry, rude, mean, selfish... whatever else there is. It’s not a good thing.

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
Lena: I don’t know, it’s hard to say.
Julia: For me, I want to change the hearts and minds of people. To tell them through this album that it’s time to change.
Lena: That’s what we’re trying to do through this album. And we hope that message will come across.

Since your album is titled Dangerous and Moving,would you say that the two of you don’t mind doing things other people might consider dangerous?
Lena: We’re not dangerous - we’re good girls.
Julia: The danger is what’s around us, not us.
Lena: We’re living our lives with love - that’s what we’ve always been doing.

You have a song called “Friend or Foe”
Lena: There’s a message that’s close to our lives behind this song. The track is about how famous people, or people in the limelight, can sometimes have difficulty figuring out why people want to make friends with us. We can’t tell if it’s because they really want to be our friend and they really like our personalities, or because they think we’re rich, or just because they want to be able to boast and tell their friends that the have a fiend in t.a.t.u.

Have you found a way to differentiate these “fake” friends from the true ones?
Lena: Yes! Most of our true friends are people from our lives.
Julia: People who lead normal lives, who’re not in the showbiz.
Lena: They’re just regular, normal people living normal lives.

The two of you stir up controversy wherever you go, and one of the things everybody always asks is the one of about your sexual orientation. Are you sick of being asked the “are-you-or-are-you-not” question?
Lena: No, because we understand that it’s something many people are very interested in.

Do you have any regrets of what you’ve done in the past?
Lena: No. We’re totally okay with everything we’ve done. If it happens, it happens for a reason. It’s meant to be like that. We just look straight ahead and how could it be a mistake, if we do what we feel is right? Everything comes from the heart.

What do you enjoy most about your job right now?
Julia: The fans. They bring us the greatest joy.
Lena: They give us so much love and support, and that gives us the energy to go on. All we do is try to give them back the same kind of love. Even when we meet those who can be quite aggressive, we are never afraid. They just love us, and everything they do is out of love.
